Twenty-first century high education institutions will have to rely not only on adaptable physical infrastructure and qualified human resources, but also on a reliable and scalable digital infrastructure.
In 2017, California State University's Multimedia Education Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT), in partnership with Tennessee State University, selected Bethune-Cookman University as a sub-grant awardee for a $10,500 pilot grant to assist faculty and students both online and onsite with Open Education Resources (OER) Affordable Learning Solutions. The project team included Dr. Arletha McSwain, Julian Walker, Dr. Luis Colombo, Dr. Daryl Frazier, and Dr. Sarah Krejci.

This time for a $12,000 pilot grant to assist graduate faculty and students both online and onsite with Open Education Resources (OER) Affordable Learning Solutions. B-CU serves as the hub for two other HBCUs: Florida A&M University and Simmons College of Kentucky.
